But first things first, before you can teach scuba diving lessons you have to be a diver first and foremost. You can be a diver by, first taking up open water diver course, then advanced course, the rescue diver course, then dive master course and finally dive instructor, absolutely in that order.
You will need to spend money on the courses and equipments ( rent or bought). Equipments such as buoyancy control device, regulator, swim mask, snorkel, fins, booties and wet suit plus resort accommodations.
The open water course is familiarizing yourself with the basic equipments and practicing within a controlled body of water like a swimming pool before venturing out to the open sea. Then you take practical and theoretical exams to be certified as an open water diver.
The advanced course entails night diving, drift diving, deep diving, wreck diving, boat diving, cavern diving. underwater photography and videography. The rescue course is having to go thru twelve different problem or emergency situations and the student have to solve or help himself and other people during that aforementioned situations. The dive master is a level of professional status, must dived sixty times or more to qualify as an instructor and must pass a three day test to get your dive instructor license.
You can choose to join international organizations like PADI (Professional Association Of Diving Instructors) basically the largest group of the world’s divers. It’s an advantage to get crossover certifications from different organizations. The point is that the certification is internationally recognized and you can teach anywhere in the world.

You can also offer consultancy services or operate a dive shop. If you are successful then who knows you might go into the whole beach resort business in the future.
